“Wine, Cheese and… THE SINGING CHEF”—Talent in Motion Magazine

An Evening’s Entertainment for a Lifetime of Pleasure
By Rajene Hardeman

In good company, sipping glasses of fine wine while nibbling delectable varieties of cheese would make any evening perfect. Add to these activities the very enjoyable presence of hostess, humorist, songstress, culinary expert, educator and all around charming individual Jackie Gordon, aka The Singing Chef, and you have a memorable night.

The limited run of “say CHEESE!” at the Laurie Beechman Theater, West Bank Cafe, featuring Sterling Vineyards Chardonnay, Beaulieu Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Barton & Guestier Chateauneuf-du-Pape (say three times fast) and Trimbach Riesling, is Jackie’s latest incarnation as the Singing Chef and it is literally unforgettable. Speaking to Jackie after her aptly named show, I learned she employs numerous methods tp bring her audience a true dining experience guaranteed to influence their food choices for years to come. The interactive multimedia format included a chart for comparing wines with eight artisanal cheeses, while experiencing the history of cheese through Jackie’s matched repertoire of song. Recipes and suggestions completed the “eatertainment” program.

Keenly aware obesity is rampant in America, Jackie favors mindful tasting of excellently prepared and flavored food as an alternative to habitual gorging. For an introduction to her many surprises and upcoming gigs, please visit http://www.jackiegordon.com.
