The Fried Chicken Theory According to Jackie Gordon
SYNOPSIS: The Fried Chicken Theory According to Jackie Gordon: an evening of sultry soul food and sweet soul music is based on the “theory” that people who make soul music grew up on soul food and Jackie Gordon Singing Chef cooks up a storm of both at this show so the audience feasts not only on the food, but on the music as well.
In The Fried Chicken Theory According to Jackie Gordon, Jackie and her a team of cooks and servers produce a three-course dinner party using Jackie’s personal recipes. Live music accompanies each course. In previous productions have included an acapella duo, jazz ensemble, and a 22-voice gospel choir. With the dessert, Jackie, accompanied by her band, delights the audience with vintage soul music from the 1950’s and 1960’s covering tunes made famous by Etta James, Wilson Pickett, Brenda Washington, and more.
